What are veneers?
Veneers are very thin shells that are designed to fit over the front of your natural teeth. Dental veneers are typically made of high-quality porcelain or composite material, which gives them a natural color and appearance. Our talented dentist may recommend dental veneers to correct a number of cosmetic dental flaws and give your smile a uniform, beautiful appearance. He will help you determine whether composite or porcelain veneers would be best for meeting your personal cosmetic preferences and dental needs.
Do I need veneers?
Dr. Jeffrey Lopes may recommend composite or porcelain veneers in order to correct flaws and imperfections in your smile, including:
- Chips and cracks in the teeth
- Broken teeth
- Very worn teeth
- Irregularly shaped teeth
- Stained, discolored, or spotted teeth
- Large gaps and spaces in between teeth
- Slightly crooked teeth
As a trained Las Vegas Institute dentist, Dr. Jeffrey Lopes has the necessary skills and experience to ensure that your veneers beautifully enhance your smile and your overall appearance.
What is the veneers process like?
First, you will meet with our dentist in a personal consultation to determine that dental veneers in Sonoma, California, are the right option for your smile. In the next visit, we will remove a very small amount of enamel from the surface of your teeth to accommodate the thickness of the composite or porcelain veneers. We then take molds of your smile, which are sent to a dental laboratory where your veneers are custom made to precisely fit your smile. Once the permanent veneers are sent back to our office, you will come in for another visit. Dr. Jeffrey Lopes will check each veneer for fit and appearance before cementing them in place.
